Quarterly Newsletter

It is with much excitement the Executive Council is disseminating its first quarterly newsletter.  The EDFAS Lone Star Chapter received its Charter in October 2006.  We are the second chartered local EDFAS society.  Since January, we have been busy planning the monthly technical meetings and moving forward in the growth of the society.  We recently submitted the annual report to ASM International which noted our accomplishments to date.

We will continue to work towards our goal of growing the society and providing technical information to our members through a variety of forums.  Since our inception date, we have held four meetings all of which have been well attended.  We are the first EDFAS Chapter to have held a meeting via WebEx, broadening our reach to our members.  Other accomplishments this year include the creation and activation of our website and attaining several corporate sustaining sponsors.  We also encourage networking amongst our members by having a social hour prior to each meeting.  We have found this to be a key aspect of our society and many members tend to stay after the technical presentation to continue conversations.  We will continue with our quarterly newsletter and encourage the submission of technical publications.

We are well into the planning of the fall schedule which promises to be technically intriguing to us all.  We look forward to seeing you all in August for our next meeting.
